From Silk Road to Afghanistan

The Afghanistan conflict that broke out at the end of 70s has always been one of the bleeding wounds of the Islamic world, on which Erdem Bayazıt and his friends focus the most. “My one face looks at the West/ Another at the East/ All directions behind me/ Kiblah ahead of me!” poet of these lines cannot remain deaf to this pain and, neither did he so. He always pegged one leg of the compass. He looked at the events, facing the direction of kiblah. Bayazıt and his friends have constantly tried to bring this pain towards which the world remained silent, into question with their writings, poems, stories and novel. Most particularly Cahit Zarifoglu, worked so much on the Afghanistan matter in his poems and writings, after one point his name was started to go by “Afghanistan poet”. Erdem Bayazıt remained in minds as “Afghanistan writer”. This book is the story penned by an “insider eye” on Islam lands.
