Ismail Gaspıralı opened a new gate for the modernization of Russian Muslims with his educational approach. The acceleration of literacy teaching has raised a new generation among Muslims. Spreading of Usul-i Cedid education, the production of the first school books, and the creation of literary works in new genres; in a broader sense Gaspıralı fought alone and managed to solidify the world view of Russian Turkish Muslims. İsmail Bey’s application of Usul-i Cedid in primary schools paid off well on the increase in the Turkish literacy rate and this educational system became widespread among Russian Turks namely in Crimea and Caucasia in a short time. Tercüman newspaper played an important role in the spread of Turkish literacy along with many other aspects. The fact that İsmail Gaspıralı deemed Muslim Turks dispersed within a vast area as a whole was the main reason why the influence of Usul-i Cedid schools was seen among all Russian Turks and even in cities such as Kaskar in East Turkistan.
